My car is starting to rust...

Just washed the car today in -10 degree weather.... starting to notice some tiny sized specs of rust on the interior edge of the door jambs and some spots over the rear fenders

Is there any way to fix it or stop it from spreading further?

touch up paint with clear nail polish over it. The nail polish acts as a clear coat.

Edge of the door jambs is a really common spot. my old 97 had a few spots there when I had it, and that was at only ~40K miles.

Can I do this by hand?

What grit sandpaper should I use?

    Wet or dry sand?

I don't know. My turbo had some rust spots in the door jams where paint had chipped off. I just grabbed whatever sand paper I found first and sanded it off. Then I applied touch up paint and a clear coat. These were like dime sized spots. If nobody will see it then don't worry about doing it perfectly.

I would try 400 grit and work backwards if necessary. Do you have or can you take any pictures?

Where is a good place to get color matched paint for our cars for doing touch up? I've got lots of little dings and rock chips I would like to touchup.

For the time being carefully sand and touch up the minor chips. It looks like your passenger side rear fender might need a little work. Overall, it doesn't look to bad. Thanks for pictures.
