    black spots all over wheels

and nothing seems to be able to remove them. Has anybody had this happen before? It seems to be on every set of wheels around here that doesn't get cleaned regularly.. it's like greasy/dirty hard deposits on the wheel. I've tried mineral spirits, aluminum polish, simple green at full strength (comparable to paint thinner).. what can remove this junk?

try wire wheel acid... works great on the mag-chloride that we get around here, just don't use it on plastic chrome, only on real chrome or aluminum rims
