Oh I understand that but now you're saying that you guys were talking about the "basic structure" of the cars?

what this post is all about is what chassis the IS is based on. so basically the chassis of the car like everyone is saying that includes suspension set up (IS is totally different than the corolla which sums it up that the IS is NOT on the Vista (Corolla) Platform.) engine really doesnt matter since the IS can take a vertical (front to rear) BEAMS Black Top 3S-GE or the 1G-FE/1JZ/2JZ motor. the corolla is transverly mount (left to right).

Just the cheap ones? Uh huh... how many body on frame cars are sold right now, at any price range?

None I can think of right now... Most SUVs and the Ridgeline are unibodies if I'm not mistaken.

I'm pretty sure that Ford Crown Vics and Mercury Marquis are still body on frame cars. Many large cars (generally domestics) are full frame. Not sure if GM still has any - they dropped the full frame design with the Chevy Caprices, Buick Roadmaster, Cadillac Fleetwood, etc.

I wouldn't consider it a joke, I consider it ugly. If it didn't have that side rail that goes up behind the rear door then it would probably sell more. That is a significant part of the frame if I'm not mistaken though.

It gets lots of praise from those who buy it. It creates its own niche out of families that should have minivans but want a truck w/an open bed (not a frowned upon/stereotypical SUV).
