Discount/Americas Tire Pricing - I found a way!

Ok I had no idea that discount tire did this and some may not know either. Basically they will match any price you find online. I just called local place asking them for installation charges because I was ordering off of tirerack. They match the price plus shipping. You pay installation which is like $11 (cheaper than if you bought off tire rack then went to discount tire) and also discount tire throws in their warranty as well. They can order any tire you want even if they dont stock it in stores or online.

Yah. I like the idea of it mainly because of the warranty thing. From my experience, discounttire is great on their warranties. Plus there is no hassle with dealing with tire rack over the phone or the internet. Here you can just go to the local shop and talk to them in person and get everything done faster. Plus the lifetime rotation thing and all their other goodies.

with the warranty just slash the tires in a discreet way that it looks like an accident when they're almost worn - and get new ones!

The America Tires co. nearest me are dicks.. Last time i tried to do that for my buddy's celica; they looked up the price on tirerack, insisted on adding optional road hazard protection, shipping, and tax.. Then called up big o tires saying they charge $25 for m&b each tire and ended up concluding we'd save more getting the tires from them. Some problems with that is tirerack don't charge tax to CA residences, and any mom and pop tire shop would mount balance and dispose for $16 ea OTD (walmart would do it for under 10), we called bullshit and left. Depending on where you go, they might not be as quick to do price matching.

Ive prcied it out. Even with tax it comes out to that discount tire is like a few bucks cheaper. Plus the discount tire by my house have a great staff. Repaired some of mine and my friends tires for free even when we didnt buy from them. Great guys. Guess it goes off location.
