    4afe rebuild

    My friend might be selling his 4afe engine since he blew a rod in it, i thought about getting it and maybe rebuilding some things in it. How much would like pistons, valves, camshaft stuff like that run for? I'm not much of a mechanic but I would like to learn. My engine now is getting high miles so I would like to drop the new one in.

    if he blew a rod, please first make sure there's not massive internal damage to the block, because if there is, you may as well just go to the junk yard and get your new/used engine.

    How much are you selling it for? Actually I think he did mess some things up in the block, I guess after taking off the oil pan, their were chunks in it.
