    About the Camshaft

My car is 1998 COROLLA 1ZZ-FE and the engine without VVT-i. I saw the CROWER CAM spec. is for 2000 Toyota Corolla (with VVT-i). Is the CROWER CAM fit my Corolla??? Are the 1998 Corolla stock advertised duration also 256??

You know, I had the same question and spent months and months trying to figure out if the crower camshafts would fit my corolla 2004 vvti because I also saw that it said 2000 corolla on the specs, I spoke to Brian Crower whom you can write to , he will answer your question better than I can but I took the risk of ordering them and what I did before installing them was take a real good look at both of them with a calibrating tool and realized that they were identical except on the duration end of the lobe and I've had them on for a month now and I'm anxious to get the next stage cams 3/4 race........Mine are working perfect but you know us , racers, we always want more...
If your engine is a 1zz fe it will definately work for you, all the vvti is is a cylindrical piece that snaps on to the end of the camshaft and controls it through an oil valve which is controlled by the oil pressure.....etc....
try them, dont be afraid, I'm all the way over here in Ecuador so you can imagine how hard it is to change them if they dont fit....lol...

    good luck , here's Brian Crower's email...
