    Exhaust wrap

I really wanna get some exhaust wrap to insulate my header-that thing increases the temps SOOO much w/o a heatshield-my question is-the wrap comes in a roll-and i was wondering how you actually "tape" it-so it doenst UNWRAP?

I don't know, but I do know that the wrap will come with it.

usually wrap will come with some sort of clips and/or things to hold it... if it doesn't then you can use regular clamps and clamp tape just as it starts at the top of the exchaust manifold and use one big one at the end of the downpipe...

if you are really paranoid you can get some copper or steel fencing wire first use the clamps and then wrap the wrapped header with the wire.

well just use the clamps like the ones you got on your air intake.

also, i was told that it can actually "rust" my header from trapped moisture under this wrap...is this true and what could i do to prevent that from happening...

I thought about doing it when my headers changed colors. It's porbaly the most expensive tape you can buy.

its a great idea-just think about how much longer the engine might last b/c of much lower under hood temps-not to mention much cooler intake manifold-givin you more power as well...too many benefits-it just looks ugly as hell-but it does its job..

AWESOME! so your not worried about what it might'v done to the header itself? rust, corrosion, other things...

i dont really care about performance-all i care about it preventing my alternator, and other sensitive electronics from getting exposed to extreme temps, as well as reducing the overall under hood temp. it was a lot cooler b/f i got the header-those heat shields really made a difference on the oem setup.
