    high oil consumption

    My '01 Prizm is using about 1 quart of oil per 500 miles. Check engine light is on and autozone says the code indicates the following: bad cat, engine misfire, vacuum leak, or oil leak (valve guides or rings). The PCV valve was quite gummed up, so I cleaned it. The car has 138,000 miles and runs fine. Any suggestions? I need to get the CEL off for the emissions test.
