    oil leaking...

Just spotted a really bad oil leak right where the valve cover and the block connects. I think it has leaked into the timing belt as well. I had a relative look at it and had told me it's the oil seal and needs to be replaced along with the timing belt. Wondering if anyone has done a resealant in this area and some tips would be greatly appreciated.

I've not driven this car in a long time since I bought it (used) and had been sitting in the driveway until recently.

Thank you in advance to anyone that may help.

4/7afe's (most that i've seen) have leaky valve cover gaskets & spark plug tube seals. I would suggest getting a set that includes the tube seals as well. Should be no more than $30 and 30 minutes of your time

okay between the valve cover and the block. well something is wrong here cuz your missing head for that block. it just looks like the valve cover gasket is leaking. and yup it would be a good time to replace a timing belt.

That may be what's causing my oil leak. I'll have to investigate.

helps being a service adviser you learn alot of things to do when you work around cars to ave you time and money. oh you can also go to any auto parts store get an engine dye run your car for a couple of days with it in to see exactly where you have the leak so you dont waste time or your money
