hi im fairly new to this forum. i have a venom recluse 400 nitrous system and am currently running a 65 shot. what i was wondering is that i am planning on getting a TRD sc/er for 1800 pretty soon. i was wondering how bad would it be to run a 30 shot with the supercharger? i mean its a week shot, but would that be too much strain on the engine?

Vortex has a point: it seems that the most basic way of determining engine integrity is by the amount of horsepower it's putting out. Case in point: The guys at http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ say you can run up to 200 hp on stock connecting rods. In other words, instead of saying, "You can run this much boost" or, "You can combine this much shot of nitrous with this much compression" it's easier to say: your stock engine can handle this much horsepower. By the way, it seems from what import performance parts is saying, your con-rods might be the first limit on how much you can pump out. So, supposedly, you could get your supercharger having the car put out 166 hp, and then you could tune your nitrous to bump it up to 200 hp. By the way, this is partly conjecture on my part, but I'm not sure what you need, or even whether you need, to consider regarding compression and detonation/knocking. Nitrous will cool your boosted intake and might even eliminate the need to even consider lowering your compression? But, if I were you, I would try looking on some more turbo-oriented or drag-oriented forums.

Yes if i were u go with wat vortex saying test the corolla motor out man...but the any thing is that vortex has spares part laying around and thats it....Its up to u man...If i was u i'll try it out and see wat happen good lucky....

Hey Nakinmohoes, I was getting pretty discouraged with some of the trash I got with my "Raising the Redline" thread. Thanks for the moral support.

Then I'll say it... a DRY 65 shot on stock internals, good luck with that in the long run. And you want to run boost on top of it... You will have to strenghen the motor in order to run that combo for a length of time that is worth the investment.

Who cares about post count. I agree you shouldn't make fun of people as a noob (or a regular member at that), but for your opinion or comments to be meaningless because of it is just ignorant.

he is running a DRY shot (so he says), that's the part that doesn't sit right with me. You would think wet, but no... dry.

A dry 65 shot will wear a hole in your piston after too long. All you need is a hotspot on the piston, and you'll wear through it pretty fast. Are you running colder plugs? If you run a 35shot+ S/C on a totally stock engine itll be fast for a short amount of time. Running a 50shot just every 2 weeks for timeslips will take a bit of life out of the moving parts of the engine.

You could get 200hp alot safer out of the S/C with a 9psi pulley, I/E and maybe an eManage if youre still running lean. I know the S/C comes w/ a new ECU so youd have to get a A/F meter to keep an eye on it.

If youre just looking to blow the engine up(1zz's tend to be cheap anyway) then run dry shots on the S/C after 3000RPM and try for the 12.000 ET. Just be laughing and not crying when your car crosses the 1/4 mi line in flames and smoke...
