trying to upgrade speakers

Crutchfield.com is showing 6 x 9 for rear and 5 1/4 for front, (for 03 Corolla)fronts are rivoted and you may need spacers for window clearance.

trying to upgrade speakers

new here and i'm pretty much know about the dreaded upgrade to the speaker problem on the 03-05 corolla. well what i wanted to know is do you need a bracket for the rear speakers. corollatoys in the diy section say that you have to drill holes or use zip ties to secure the speakers. is that true? i know the fronts are riveted.

Well ?? Dont know never did 03+, I was just going on what the website stated and when I checked the latest catalog I have, the 03+ are not listed in there yet. It does say that the 98-02 fronts are 5.25 or 6.5. So it is possible that yours will take either as well. CW

I'm positive the 03+ front speakers were 6.5"; and yes they are riveted. You don't neccesarily need a spacer, depending on how you go about taking the old ones out.

how about the rears. are they just drop in or do i have to drill new holds like the website said. (corollatoys)

dont listen to anyone that says to wire tie the speakers down!

I know u have to drill holes cuz my 6x9 pioneers would not line up to the factory holes

lol. it strange for toyota to design a system to where no ordiary people can upgrade easily
