Engine VVTI govenor

    VVTI govenor

    i m a noob in this forum but i have a problem i have a 06 scion tc.. i dont no why but i raced my friends matrix xrs..i beat him on my first three gears but when i got up to fourth my car slows down i dont why i m guessing it the govenor in my car... but does any one know where the govenor on a scion tc is because i would love to take it out sense all you guy no much more about vvti engines i m a noob with vvti... please help me with my problem

    What speed were you going? Yes, you can remove the governor, there are some systems around to do it. Basically you need to reduce the speed sensor signal to the ECU.

    You'll know if you hit the governor though because your engine will shut right down. More likely you just were beaten. The XRS is faster than the tC, especially in the higher speed ranges.

    yea i have a tc and once u get about 3rd gear the engine just doesnt have it in there to hang

    ahaha...!! i guess so i thought govenor does something like make your engine lag so you cant go any faster...but getting beaten by a stripped out xrs matrix and running 100 octane with exhaust and intake isnt that bad...(my car is fully stock)
