    3M Paint Protector Film

Does anyone have the 3M clear film paint protector intalled on their Corolla or know someone that does? The reason I ask is that I just got it installed by the Toyota dealer with my 04 S and there are a couple of small bubbles and some imperfections on the edges, otherwise it looks good. I asked and was told that this is normal, and that it takes 30 days to cure (over that period of time the imperfections are supposed to dissappear). It came with a 5 year warranty so I can take it back anytime but I don't like the fact that after I wax it that I can see a bubble and an edge that looks like it's seperating on an otherwise prefect exterior. I live 300 miles from the dealer that installed it so i want to be sure of myself before I drive for 6 hours.

It's still curing and you're waxing it? I'm pretty sure it's the same as paint; you can't wax it otherwise you block off the air so it can't cure right. I may be wrong, but contact your dealership and ask them about that.

No, I haven't waxed it yet, but the info they gave me with it claims you can wax it immediately w/o a problem. I didn't wax just in case (made that mistake b4 on a diff car after a panel was just painted), just used a mister clean wash/rinse on it and it was lookin niiice, but the bubbles, even though they are less than a cm in diameter and very shallow, are noticeable because my S is Black Sand Pearl, and everything shows on black.

if that film behaves like window tint, you should have given it a week or so before you washed it.

next question...didja have to post this twice? i just came across your other post about this...

and i would say let it cure, if they said it would take a little while to cure.

i duno...i guess you're confusing me when you said that you'd waxed it, then you hadn't...i think you have to be a little more clear in what you're trying to say.
