Tranny Went out @ 48,000 miles.

Well guys my tranny went out on Friday. I am stressing because I need my car. Its my daily driver and I dont know what to do. The company can rebuild it for 1500 including labor, or I could look into a used tranny for around 700 and then 400 for labor so 1100 total. I am thinking about a used celica transmission so I can get the better gear ratios and make a some what decent thing out of a bad thing. What do you guys think about going with a used tranny though. The shop wants to rebuild it so they can warranty it and make sure that I wont have issues again. Any suggestions.... I would appreciate it. I need them quickly too lol.

damn man. Sucks to hear that. Could be just something with your tranny or the 2003 corolla trannies. Usually the 240 trannys blow at 500hp...

Well i am sure you can pick up a tranny from a junk yard

my car is basically stock... just the basic N.A. parts intake and exhaust. the only thing i could see as any reason would be the urethane motor mounts but they warrantied my tranny with them in so i guess they dont void it.
