Yea the thing is that for example in my country cars are slow for these factors:

    1. Most of the cars are like 1.0-1.5 liter motors because gas is EXPENSIVE and economic situation sucks for most countries out there including mine so hard to even afford a couple gallons of gas.
    2. The traffic in my country is something that you wouldn't believe man, plus streets are like half the size than what they are here in the U.S.... many say that who ever can drive down there drives ANYWHERE in the world.
    3. The cars manufactured in my country hold like only 8 gallons or so and since the motors are small then they're really good in gas mileage.
    4. There's a lot of stop-go driving in my country due to traffic and shit so that's why cars are slow as shit and they make them really good in gas mileage.
    5. ALL of the reliable cars are 4-5 spd manual transmission cars..... the only Automatics known in my country is BMW, MB, Ferrari, etc. like those really expensive makes but only people in the northern part of my home city (Bogota) are most likely to own these kind of vehicles BUT you become a target driving those cars so kidnapping chances for you go up to like 100% lol so gotta watch out but yea other than that those factors are why cars are slow in other countries and not here.

the philippines has the worst traffic conditions... a 2 lane street would be a 5 lane street... 3 cars would squeeze on the street and some would run on the shoulder... the major highway a lot of people run on the shoulders as well... and going 70mph, would be a really rare occassion... and bout the engine displacements, dont quote me on this but i think the tax on the cars are based on the engine displacements, the bigger the engine the higher the tax... now that this rule is not in action no more, its the first time for the camry to be released there with a V6 (is it 3.2L engine?)

    i hope that explains some...
