Has anyone here used a dynomat trunk kit? I'm in the process of redoing my stereo system and I need some deadening material and wonder if it's better/easier to get the trunk kit or just buy a bunch of sheets and do more than the trunk...

    Any opinions?

If you want to spend the money I would recomend getting the car kit and do your entire car if you are going to take the trouble to do the trunk. I used the trunk kit on my blazer, and it worked well because its just a bunch of sheets anyway. Each "kit" is only more sheets to cover more area.

how many watts?/how loud are you gonna play your system?

it might not be worth it if its not much and it might not help if its too much

i know someone who dynamated their entire car, including their roof and the system STILL rattles

my speakers are powered by my deck for right now, and I hope to change that soon. Then I've got my Kicker S10L7 running at 600W RMS in the back. I would like to step it up with another S10L7 to bring it up to 1200W RMS but we'll see about that since I'd need to upgrade a ton of electrical parts to do that. I was thinking about deadening the entire car too so we'll see. Would doing the doors and body prevent sounds leakage from the main speakers? The vocals can be heard too much outside the car :(

Anyone try FatMat or the other dynomat alternatives?

How could it be better? Do you mean the speakers/sound could be tuned better or could the dampening be better? Please expound on this :) Also, having done your entire car, did you notice that the car was anymore sluggish than before?

Thanks for all your help guys!

I used edead from elemental designs

it works ok, they're pretty much all the same.. tar with a foil backing. Make sure you use a roller when applying to make sure it sticks really well to the body.
