7x10 rear speakers & remplacing the stock HU

    Hi there,

I'm a new corolla owner from Montreal, Canada (actually, I'm receiving it tomorow) and a new member of the forum!

BTW, nice site! Lot of infos!! I'm really happy that a Corolla 2003 site exist with a nice forum :) :)

I've got nice 7x10 speakers (Pioneer) from my previous car and I'm wondering if there's a way to install them in my future new Corolla. I know that the stock speakers are 6x9 but I don't know if there's enought room to fit the 7x10 in the space where the stock one are.

I'll remplace the stock HU by the Aiwa CDC-MP3 I already have. Tell me if I'm right, the two parts I need to do this are : http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/SCOTA2048B and http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item.pl?sku=SCOTA02B !??!

    Thanx in advance, Walt

I imagine with a little cutting you could get the 7x10s in there. The holes for the stock 6x9s are spaced much farther out than holes for aftermarket 6x9s

Do you think that I'll have to cut the metal ? I don't have the car until tomorrow but from what I saw the 6x9 where sitting in a metal part of the car ? Am I wrong ?

I don't know, the hole for the 6x9s are a little bit bigger than what they need to be for new 6x9s. You may be ok, but be ready to cut metal if you have to.
