amp draining battery...

    amp draining battery...

    i been having a problem with my amp draining my battery...after killing my battery 3 times in one day, i unplugged it until i get a switch...but i don't know exactly what wire to put the switch on...can i use the remote wire or just straight up to the power wire...any help will do...thanks

    don't use the power wire.
    A switch would have to be rated at 100 amps to handle that, and a small little rocker isn't going to work.. you'd need a huge circuit breaker or something.

    use the remote wire.
    go to radioshack and grab a spst type switch and wire one end up to +12v and the other to the remote port. On my stereo I have the switch between the deck and remote, so I have 2 switches for auto/manual control if needed.

    on my amp anyway, it wont power up without a remote signal.. did you already cross it with the +12v lead or something??

    well, i have a switch already that im going to use from my interior neons that i had that i took out...so its already drilled in and everything where i want it...thanks for the help...ima hook it in tomm morn before i gotta go to school...i miss my bass :( :( :( my remote wire is wired in to my fuse box to the ciggarette lighter...my amp also dosn't power up unless my remote wire is in...
