    audio setup

hey guys, i'm in the process of making a custom trunk. But it wont be as clean as RollaRyder1103's setup. I have two JL Audios w6's (not the v2's) and each run 300 rms watts. I have a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 600.4 amp and bridged it to two channels to get 300 rms to each sub. The wiring kit has 4 gauge power and ground. I built an amp rack flush with the ground over the spare tire and it opens like a door, so i can get the spare if i need to. Then i'll have a box that is flush with the back half of the trunk to make it look stock.

I'm thinking of selling my amp, and getting two Pioneer GM-D510M amplifiers to run one amp for one sub. The RMS is perfect for my subs and the peak is at 1000 watts. Do i need to get a bigger gauge wiring kit? such as a 2 gauge? and how did you guys wire it to the battery? i coudln't find a hole in the firewall, so i drilled a hole and then sealed it after i ran the power wire out >_<
