DRL Bypass DIY. (Using Relay Harness from Jae or Stinky)

Since sooo many ppl want this info I am posting it here. Meth you can add this to the DIY section when you get a chance. You will need to save the pics as I will nto be hosting them forever. (Mabey only a few months)

    Tools Needed:
    Wire Cutters
    Pliers
1 blue wire tap connector (see pic below)
Wiring harness. (Can be bought from Jae or www.advancetiming.com)

    Time needed:
30 minutes - 1 hour if you dont already have the harness installed
3 - 5 minutes if you do have the narness installed.

    Procedure:

If you dont already have the harness installed then you will need to follow the directions given and hook that up as you normally would. When you are done that come back and check the next step.

Find the connector on your harness that plugs into the peice on the car that used to go into the headlight bulb. It will have a black and red wire on it. You can see it in the pic below. It is labelled "Connector to original 9005/9006 harness".

After you find the connector you will want to cut the red wire. (Make sure the lights are OFF when you do this) It doesnt matter where you cut it. If there is a chance you will want to hook this up again normally you will want to be sure you leave a bit of wire on the connector end.

The wire may be long enough to reach for this next step. If not a small chunk of wire can be addedd for length. Take the wire end you just cut coming from the yellow sleeve. And splice it to the SOLID GREEN wire on your park/marker lights. There are 3 wires on it. one black, one green with black strip and one solid green one. Be sure you have the solid green one. Look at the pics below to see what I am talking about

To splice it in simply use your blue crimp connector. put it around the SOLID GREEN wire, then poke your red wire into the other hole in the crimp connector. There is a small metal pin that sticks up. Use your pliers to squish that down, then fold over the blue cover peice. It is very important that you got that red wire in as far as it will go, sometimes it gets cought on the metal splicer part, so you need to push it in hard.

    Conclusion:
If you did it propperly you lights will not come on at full power with the first click of your headlight switch. Then one more click will give you your fogs and use of your high beams.

If you did it wrong it will not come on when you click the light switch forward one click. IT WILL COME ON when you put your signal light on though. That indicates you used the wrong green wire.

    Good Luck, you are done!

Im not very knowledgable in splicing.

Do we have to cut the green wire coming from the signal light?

Or does this splice thing already do it for you?

Can you explain it more, how it works.

And the 9006 is actually the gray one :( (White/Black wires)

Not the red/black, sorry :) hehe

Ok, so dont cut the red one cut the grey one.

And no you dont need to cut the green wire. the blue wire tap will tap into it without cutting it. Go to crappy tire and buy a small package of the things. you will see what they do after you see them up close.
