    DRL...

    wassup...i was wondering if i get the silverstars for my headlights will they burn out quicker because the DRL are always on or are they independent of them??

    I would disable the DRL's, otherwise they will burn out faster. Also, the wires for the headlights are somewhat undersized from what i have read. They can't really handle too much power.

    The DRL system uses the low beam bulbs, but supplies them with a reduced voltage when the DRLs are on. So yes, they will burn out quicker, but not alot quicker.

    yea the thing is my corolla is on a lease...and whether i buy it out after three years remains to be seen.....the guy at pep boys said that the DRL are the parking lights that are on not the actual headlights so the silverstars wouldnt be affected....i dont know if hes full of shit or what though...

    now is that good or bad? my familys kept a car for 6 years longest, and didnt switch out the oem bulbs and they were fine.
