    Front Components

    Hey everyone!

I really want to look into getting some components for the front. I can't stand the stock sound imaging. I wanted to put some audiobahn's in. Has anyone custom fit some tweeters into the paneling above the door. You know the little black piece or whatever it's called..lol. I don't know if it's deep enough to custom mount tweeters there or not. And that front door speaker size drives me nuts, I never did find a perfect fit kit for that hole.

Just wondering what people have done for this.

    Thanks!

yes, quite a few people have. sometimes you can even find custom mounts for them.

the stock door speaker(unless it's changed and i wasn't aware...) is a 4" round speaker.

The speaker is 4" but isn't the hole alot bigger? Mine is actually kinda jury-rigged. I have 4" pioneers in there now.

Do you or anyone know where I could get some custom mounts?

    Thanks

It's the size of the magnet or the mounthing depth you'd have to most worry about. Even though I had 4" JL mids, it still rub the window a little bit with spacers. I just went at the door panels with fiberglass and mounted some JL 6.5's after that. I wouldn't really recommend audiobahn for sound quality but to each its own or something like that.

I bought the entry level JL components for a little over 200 and they cost a little but you pay for what you get. If you buy something cheap thats what you get, but spend a little more money and get something good. I mounted my tweeters in front of my door handle on the inside and it works for me. I've see other corollas on cardomain and they have removed the piece above the door panel and used bondo to build it up enough to fit the tweeters right but do whatever works for you and your budget.
