    Front door speaker question

I recently replaced my factory speakers (all 4) and I was wondering if anyone else had the problem of having to fade the head unit WAY forward (I think it's at FR4) to get an even front to rear balance out of the system. I am very familiar with stereos and how to hook things up correctly so I am sure they are installed right. Am I forgetting something or is this just what happens when you install aftermarket speakers with a stock head unit on the 03+ Corolla?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Are your new speakers all 4 ohms? Do they all have the same sensitivity? Also, you hve to remember that the factory rears are 6 ohms vs. 4 in the front, so if you put 4 ohm speakers in you'll automatically get 2.25 times as much power out of the rears.

Apparently I neglected to see that difference when I installed them.

I was not aware that the rear factory speakers are 6 ohm!

Are there any aftermarket 6x9 speakers that run at 6?

BTW thanks for the insight oxymoron!

Never seen aftermarket 6 ohm speakers. You could always try wiring a 2 ohm 10 Watt resistor in series with each speaker - that would help balance the levels, but it might alter the frequency response a bit.
