How can I make the paint blend better?

Ok, well I had some scrapes that I wanted to get rid of. So instead of paying lots of $$ for my dealer do it I decided to tackle it myself. Well I sanded it evenly, masked off the area, primed several light layers, then painted several light layers with color code matched at lordco and then clear coated it. I took off the tape and now there is a slight ridge and the colours are a little off. I'm just wondering what is the best way to make it blend better? Are there any miracle products out there that will help my cause? Wax? Polish? Sanding?

Blending is the toughest part of the painting process. It is nearly impossible to match paint exactly. The way many repair shops get around this is by painting whole pieces and then some. You ahve a deep scratch pulled out on the front fender near the door, chanes are they will paint part of the door too. my suggestion is to blend in a larger area.

you cant just tape off in the middle of a panel no where near a body line and expect it to blend. You are going to have to mist it in so you dont get the uniform line and then use 2000 grit sand paper or use a mild rubbing compound.
