installing aftermarket Tach?

    installing aftermarket Tach?

    does anyone on this board with a '93-97 Rolla installed a tach on their rides?
    i just want to know how before getting one.

    Search around on the forum. This topic has been covered in detail a couple times before. If you want to switch to a gauge cluster with tach, buy one and it should be as simple as switching the new cluster in if your car is a CE, DX or above model. If you have a base model, then you'll have to run a wire.

    switching clusters is by far the easiest way to do it...

    nah...i want those moster tachs that sits on the dash.
    but i couldnt find any info on how to hook them up yet.

    i tried installing a tach on the dash before i did a swap... they said you can tap a wire from the cluster for the signal... im not sure though... took me forever to do thats why i did a cluster swap...

    There's a wiring diagram in the back of the haynes manual for the the instrument cluster. Don't think that's what you're looking for, but figured I'd mention it.

    Actually, I'm sure there's a diagram for the distributor too, which I belive is where you would need to run the tach wire from.
