    My AM/FM/XM Antenna

First of all I thought you might want to see a before and after picture.
Before [IMG] After [IMG] Wow looks the same.
First I purchased a Blitzsafe micro antenna from the XMfan store (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/xmfanstore/blxmmianxm.html). Next I removed the sticker from the bottom of the XM antenna and then removed the four screws that hold the base to the top and then removed that XM antenna from the Blitzsafe case.. I Next I remover the AM/FM antenna from the roof, of my 2003 corolla, and removed the three screws in the bottom on the antenna. After I opened the antenna I found an amp inside which I removed because the XM antenna must sit flat on the base of the AM/FM antenna.
Next I took the AM/FM amp and mounted it on the inside of the car above the head liner and then ran the wire that I attached to the input of the amp (the green one) out the hole in the roof and connected it to the blue wire that connects the antenna jack to the amp. I then reassembled the AM/FM antenna and re mounted it too the roof of my car. The last step was to run the wire from the XM antenna to the XM receiver. Now I have an AM/FM/XM antenna on my car. I also replaced the AM/FM antenna with one that is much shorter than the stock, since reception does not matter.

Here are two more picturesof the antenna.

here is a larger image of the last picture. http://www.myshamus.net/xm/XM3.jpg

By the way it works just as well as my old Antenna Specialists antenna.
