which would be easier on the wallet.
a 2 channel amp that will power 150-200 rms per channel
or a 4 channel amp thatll power 40 rms per channel?

If you're not buying new speakers, then 4 by 40 Watt.

What are you trying to do? Power your subs, or your front and rear speakers.

Get the 4 channel because it will be better. If you bridge speaker into one channel one speaker will max out first while the other speaker will still be asking for more. In your case, the front will max out first while your 6x9 still want more power. Your rear speakers will be fine but your front speaker will clip.

Only get a 2 channel amp if you dont plan to use your rear speakers or if your front speaker is the same as your rear.

Your original question was about either a 4 or a 2 channel amp? Now it's a 1 channel amp. What is it you want to do?

You wont find any good or 4 channel amp for $100
This is the cheapest good amp that I found and its for $150

You dont want to go cheap on amps for your speaker. You can get away with a cheap amp for your sub but for your speakers you will notice the difference big time.

But if you really cant save up the extra $50 I would look into Profile CL series and Lanzar amp. From experiance I think they make good soild cheap amp.

    Lanzar

Some other 4 channel amps that I ran across when I was looking for a good buget amp
