what size tire did you have to purchase, I'm considering doing the same thing as far as the 18" rims. I have a '97

not bad...lose the sidemoulding though...it detracts from the car.

I would have spent the money on some nice 15s or 16s and some new lowering springs, but to each his own. I think 18s are WAY to big for a Corolla. Looks alright though.

i got these 18s for like 200 from a friend with brand new tires bcuz he's getting rid of his car, I'd rather have the 18s for 200 rather than 15s or 16s for like double or triple

that's probably one of the easiest things to do to a car. if you've got time to put wheels on, and a handy hairdryer, then you can remove your sidemoulding. heat up one end, separate it from the car with some fishing line, and heat/pull slowly. once it's gone, clean it up with some adhesive remover, wash and wax the car(or at least that area...the remover takes off any existing wax), and you're done. we did mine in about 10-15 minutes.

Looks good, but I agree with faln. Kill the side moulding. It's not that hard. Just heat, pull, and peel in a nutshell. BTW, how's the ride on those things? I'd be scared of bending them with so little sidewall to absorb the bumps and potholes.

There might not be any holes, but isn't there a body indent around the side moulding? I don't think it's a smooth surface, but rather a dip in the fender. And for it to look right you would have to bondo over the gap to make it flush with the rest of the car, and then repaint.

I opt. to leave the side moulding on, and just paint it the same color as the car.

Yes, there's that little indendation, but I think it looks fine with it.

There is. You can see if it you look in his pics along the top of the side moulding.

the ride is actually nice, i haven't lost any acceleration and the grip is great on the ride..it was a pain in the butt to get the correct tires for it but the only the i have to do now is roll or take out the fenders...i'm not really going to mess with the side moldings because i do remember that there are holes there that they plug into which require some body repair or fiber glass molding..other than that i'm loving them and liking the new look

the funny thing is, is that my suspension needs to be replaced but it's not bumpy at all, maybe on actual dips or bumps on the road but i take those slowly

well usually when a suspension gets worn the car bounces more than once for every bump which means that it is not getting the best traction for your tires and tends to bring the ride quality down.

Looks nice. I guess I'm not one of the only persons now rolling with 18"s. Is the brand for those rims a good brand cause if not I'd be carefull cause they might easily bend or crack. Ya keep the side molding and paint it cause there are holes when you take them out.
