    Problems with amp

Hey everyone! I've got a JBL BP1200.1 amp that is giving me problems lately. The problem is that it doesn't put out a signal to my sub!

It all started when my battery cable got disconnected. After that the bass was considerably louder and somewhat distorted, I think it was because the HU went to its default values and increased the bass levels. Anyways, my sub stopped working that day and I figured that it was because it blew so I put a new one in and there's no sound coming out of that either. The cone doesn't move on either speaker.

I checked the amp and I noticed the power/protection light. Most of the time (even now) it's solid green and would mean that it's over heated, but this shouldn't be it as it never plays even when it's cold. After I switched the subs, I saw it in protection mode (the red led was on). In the manual this means "Excessive voltage on B (+) connection. Check vehicle charging system for defective voltage regulator."

What does this mean? Does anyone know how I can go about fixing this?

Thanks for the help, I'm tired of driving with no bass!!!

Check your grounds, your remote wire to your headunit.....make sure no wires are touching anywhere, check your battery connections, your fuses.....check the small stuff first!

take out the power cable, then re-install it. If it does the same, I think when they replaced the battery terminal, it put out a surge to the amp and messed it up. You can bench test it if you have a 12 volt power supply. Just hook it up to it and see if the protect light still comes on. If it does the amp is pretty much fucked.

make sure you are using all 4 rca inputs. put a y-spitter on each channel. i know it sounds weird but the amp was designed to be ran that way.
