PROBLEMS WITH RATTLES IN THE SPOILER

Hey you guys, I just registered and this is my first post. I have a rockford bd1000 pushing 2 JLW3 12's in the trunk of my new Corolla S and I'm hearing alot of rattleing outside the trunk. Everyone tries to tell me that it is still the tag, but I fixed this before it had a chance to bother me. Whenever I turn on the subs really low, I hear this rattleing coming from the spoiler. I'm thinking that the wire going to the 3rd brake light is causing this inconvienence. However, whenever I removed the only 2 screws that appeared to be holding the ligh in, it still would not budge. I tried prying it a little w/ a screwdriver but had no success. Has anyone else noticed this and found an antidote? Or can anyone tell me how to remover the light fixture?

Do you have any dynamat on the trunk lid and the roof of the trunk? Generally, you will always have some rattle unless you dynamat the whole trunk.

I haven't tried dynamat yet. It's too expensive and I'm trying my best to avoid the stuff unless I find out that their is no other alternative. But I don't think that it will do the trick anyway because it isn't the entire spoiler or the trunk lid that is rattling. I have decided that it is just the wire inside the spoiler. All I have to do now it get to it. LOL Any ideas on how to get the light fixture off of the spoiler???

    Thank you guys!

You could also try Raamat, which is a less expensive version of Dynamat. It isn't as thick though, so its not quite as effective as dynamat. As far as the wire, I don't have a clue.. I have no spoiler.

just a thought...it could also be your plat in the back on the trunk lid. a friend of mine has some deep bass on his car and he plat ratles like crazy, you might want to put something to add like a pad between the trunk and the plat. maybe some foam or something. that might elemate the problem, however. you do need dynomat, thats the only real true way to elemate that ratle.
    but thats my input

dynamat my friend is the way to go, the trunk lid is too light and thin, bass notes are gonna rattle the hell out of it, put a layer of dynamat ..... maybe 2.

also try dynamat in the back of your license plate and on the mounting piece of the view mirror

Considering dynamant is too $$$ for some and hard to apply to hard to reach areas another product u could use is self expanding foam... Thts the stuff they sell @ home depot or home improvement stores... Basically its like dynamat in a can and on spraying expands and sticks to the surface...
