    Redding Out Taillights

HAs any1 here redded out their taillights, if so is it easy? If i were to do it w/ vinyl as opposed to paint would i be able to take it off if i didn't like it? thanks in advance.

Yes you can do it with the vinyl. It should come off with a hair dryer or hat gun with no problems. You may need some goo gone to clear any residue, but its not a big deal. I have contacted my vinyl supplier to see how much a sheet of that stuff would run. If there is enough interest for it I can even setup a template so they can be cut out to fit the lights perfectly.

cool, that'd be great if there was enough interest and u could do the templates. I don't really wanna go the altezza route and this seems like a cheap alternative that looks pretty good.

I heard back from my regular supplier. They dont have the vinyl. SO I will be checking other place over this week.

The biggest thing is just getting the setup fee covered. they charge $60 an hour for the setup fee. At my usal place they dont charge me the fee coz I send them the file in the format they need. But its usually simple designs and Text. Since I will have to go to a different place it may be a little harder.

But I will let you know what I find. I see they have red-out kits for the Matrix and they seem to be selling. Hopefully I can get something from my area.

    red outs

So can you do it yourself? Does the vinyl goes on the inside or outside of the tail-light unit? Any simple instructions?

Look under the Buying/Selling section. "vinz" is selling them. It's the 16th topic from the top.

    redding out tail lights

I was unsucessful in locating vinyl and I didn't want to wait to order from the guy here on the form, so I just painted them with transparent candy red model paint, only $4 and it looks sick............In case anyone is planning on doing this, The first coat was completely clear, just like the rest of the red parts of the tail light. The second coat was kind of frosted looking, but actually looks pretty sick since it adds some contrast. Overall, it looks sick and is much better than geting clear tail lights since everyone has them.
