    Releasing date for 2005 Rav4??

    Anyone know?

My sister is planning to get a 04 Rav4. AWD base model. I have a pretty good idea what's the lowest price in the area. But I was hoping to get it even cheaper when the 05s are out.

    TIA

A '99 RAV4 is not even comparable to the current one ('01+). The current model is much improved over the previous generation. It has a very well made interior, nice exterior, flawless fit and finish. And, as of '04, it has 4 wheel disc brakes and the Camry 2.4L engine with 160hp and 163 ft. lbs. of torque. We have owned 2 RAVs.....a '97 and an '01. So, I'm qualified to comment on both generations. I would highy recommend it for your sister. She will love it. Also, in the 7 years we owned the RAVs, never once were they ever in the shop for any issues.

BTW, the only reason we no longer have our '01 RAV, is because we just out-grew it. So, we traded it in for a Sienna.

But to answer your orginal question.......don't know when the '05 is due out.

thank you shorty and 1ZZ-ROLLA-S for your reply!

I test drove it and love it and so does my sister. I have never driven a van/suv before so I like the way the seats can be taken out to create more cargo space. It accelerates with decency. 75mph on high way with low noise and not FLOATY feeling from the steering wheel at all.

The lowest price I found locally (via internt quote) is about 19000 with some chump change. I am hoping to get it for 18000 :p. I think it's quite possible since the 05s are coming out.

Still, does anyone know when the 05s will come out?

by the way, these babies are still made in JP :)
