    Rockford Amps

Does anyone in this forum own any rockford fosgate amps, because i just sold my old system and bought some rockford 200rms subs and want to maximize their potential. but im not sure what kind of amps i should get, any suggestions would be cool, and also any reviews from the owners of their amps would also be helpful thanks.

Rockford isn't what they used to be. Not worth the money anymore in my opinion. You can do better.

What are the stats on the subs?

What ohm (impedence), what RMS rating?

yeah the subs are dual 2ohm voice coils, impendance 2 ohms, model numer for both subs are P310D2, RF. the components are also RF=rockford, FNQ3514, rms100watts at 4ohms. i dont really have a budget since im gonna be paying in payments...but i was thinking of the P8004 for my components and the P6002 for my subs, i was wondering what you think about that setup?? do u feel its too much?

th subs i have are 2, 2 ohms, the punch3's, 400rms, im wondering what amps i should get..this guy told me that all i need is the 4004 and the 6002, the 6002 pushes 300rms at 2 ohms..,4004 that pushes 50rms X4 and that i dont need the 8004, that pushes 100rms X4 at 4ohms..he says that the 8004 is too much and i wont be able to enjoy my system as much as if i got the 50rms. my components are the power 100rms, front and rears.

    You confused me.

Your subs are 2 ohm each or you have dual 2 ohm voice coils, 200RMS a peice? So you're looking for roughly a 300-400 RMS x 1 @ 1 or 4 ohm?

i have two subs, both subs are the same with dual voice coils and 2ohms. the subs are punch 3's, rms is 400, it doesnt matter what ohm the amp is set at for the subs, but i do want theamp for the components to be set as 4ohms, i just want to know what kind 4 and 2 channel rockford amps u think i should get. just to remind u also, i have 100rms components, front and rear

When you say dual voice coils and two ohms... are each voice coil 2 ohms or does the sub itself have an impedence of 2ohm (IE - dual 4 ohm voice coils)? And it does matter what ohm the amp is stable/effecient at for your subs.

Which components do you have? 100RMS doesn't mean much, I need to know which brand/model you have. Do you have Rockford components as well? If so 50-75RMS is more than enough for them and if you're looking to stay with Rockford for the interior speakers find an amp in your price range that can put out 50-75 x 4 give or take 5-10 RMS. Ideally I would try to send them 50-65RMS if it were my car, but I don't know what kind of system you're looking for and what your budget is.

The P310D2 are 400RMS a peice, not 200. I do think that the P8004 is too much, but if you're willing to throw down the money it won't hurt.. it won't help a noticeable amount either. I think spending an extra $200+ on the amp is a waste of money, I'd upgrade the components before I upgraded the amp.

Since your subs are 800RMS together (From the model number you gave me) I'd stay away from Rockford for the amp. The P6002 will drive the subs just fine. If you get the P8002 they'll just get louder. Personally again I'd save the $150-200 on the power here. Again if you were planning on splurging on the amp I'd say don't and upgrade the subs to another brand that can play well with the same power output.

I really can't say since I don't know your budget and what you're paying for the Rockford. It also sounds like yuo'll be buying from a shop instead of online and I don't know what brands your local dealers stock(wise choice). I'll throw some names out there for you though:

    No particular order
Phoenix Gold, Pioneer, Kenwood, HiFonics, Kicker, DEI (Directed) & Directed Xtreme, Viper, Orion, Lightning Audio (avoid their Bolt series), Alpine, MTX
