seat brackets

for all of you with racing seats, did you just have the old bracket from the stock seat taken off and welded to the new seat? is that all i have to do?

That's what I did but didn't do any welding. I just made two steel cross bars on top of the stock bracket and bolted the racing seat on top of that.

i had my brackets custom made, they have to weld a new peice so that your rails will fit into it, the total was $200 including install. thats about normal price if you get it done by a shop.

Sounds like a DIY needs to be posted on this because it is frequently asked. Since you made a steel cross member, are you able to use your sliders on your seats?

Yes you can still slide forward and back. I'll try to explain this as best as I can without pictures. I cut off the very bottom part of the sliders on the stock seats, that way they will line up with the stock holes. The part that actually slides is still stuck on the stock seats. Then I drilled holes and bolted two cross bars on top of those stock pieces. Then you can just set the universal brackets and new seat on top of that, drill the holes, bolt it down, and youre done.
