Snow tires or all-season tires?

Snow tires or all-season tires?

Ok, considering I'm still running the original tires on my 99 corolla, I need new tires! Not too much tread left on 'em! So, what do you think is the better buy? Get some snow tires or just some all-seasons? I don't want to put too much money into the tires since I probably won't be driving it too much during the summer anyway. I also don't think snow tires make for good daily driving on dry pavement.

If still running the stock 14s, what tires do you use(either snow or all-seasons)? I don't recall hearing too many good things about the Goodyear Integrity that came factory equipped on the 99 corolla so I don't really want to get those.

snow tires are just for that, SNOW. All season tires in the snow will not perform as well as snow tires and vice versa. If your not going to be driving it very much in the summer then I would personally get some dedicated winter tires. but if u decide to get all season tires I hear nothing but good things about the perelli pzero nero M&S

It depends, do you get much snow there and slippery road conditions? If so, i'd get winter tires, as good as some all season's are in the snow, none can compare to a good set of winter tires, might make the difference in a storm between you stopping in time or rear-ending someone... not worth the risk in my opinion.

Personally, I love the Nordic Ice Trac winter tires (they are sold in Canada at Canadian Tire, not sure if they are available in the US)... they are inexpensive and they are excellent in the snow and ice (best winter tires i've had so far), and my mother has them on her Protege5 and she just loves them too.
