Whats the difference in 06 corolla S and the XRS?

I have a 06 corolla S and im looking to put more power in the engine, but TRD and aftermarket parts for the 06 are not out. I wanna know what is it that the XRS has thats giving it more HP.
Does anyone know if an 03-05 corolla cold air intake fit the 06?

    Coz XRS has different engine.
CE, LE, and S has 1ZZ-FE, the XRS has the celica GTS 2ZZ-GE.

in simple terms, S & XRS have different engines.
S have around 125 or 128 horses while XRS have 160+ horses. the engine in the XRS is also the same one found in celica gt-s and lotus elise (vvtl-i) while the engine in the S, CE, LE, SE is vvt-i.

intake for corolla 03-04 is not the same for 05+.
also, if your car is an S - you need to specify S when ordering coz S models have fog light. the piping for models with fog lights is a bit different. some people had to do some work to make the filter fit. 05+ also have DBW (drive by wire) so depending on who you talk to, most will say intake is basically useless for 05+ coz of the dbw.
your best bet for now if you want some extra horses - i would say do research on intakes for 05+, headers, exhaust. combination of the 3 should give at least 10 extra horses.

sure. you'd have to get a new car since yours would be rendered useless, but you could do it. ;)

drive by wire means that there is no physical cable connecting the throttle to the accelerator pedal. it's all done electronically. i wouldn't say it's worthless, and theres no way it would render doing mods useless, it's just a different (some say more accurate) way to tell the engine how much you're stomping on the gas.
