for high quality stuff you arent going to find good deals and payment plans together.. You'll have to fork out the extra money and pay retail prices... But thats why credit cards were invented.. Just throw it on a credit card and pay however much you want a month (with a minimum of probably like 20-30 dollars).

No that would be a wrong thing to do. U ask why? Because the credit card's APR's are way to high and u will end up paying tripple of whatever u would pay in cash were as if a website has the payment stuff you could be getting a very low and affordable monthly payment.

If it was like that. Everyone would pay of their houses or even their cars with CC. I persoanlly think that's the wrong way to go man unless u work for a CC company and u have 0 APR on your credict card and that even never happens.

If i were you. I would just wait for a few months and buy the thing online or from Cruchfield. I wouldn't even like trust ebay. U don't know what the person done with the sound system or who has been using it. Unless the thing is brand new and the guy states it on ebay.

    Just my opinion

First off the guy said he wanted to buy it for cheap.. unless someone can prove me wrong, he isnt going to find payment plans for an online store or an intown store that has the prices that are near what ebay has, and offers payment plans... No little internet company (or individual ebay seller!) is going to put there business under that kind of obligation.. There are too many things that can go wrong.. Plus, payment plans also usually carry interest rates, although low, they may not be better than paying substantially low prices online with a credit card...

As for using a credit card it depends on the apr and what kind of payments you will be making.. I personally have a card with an 8.9 percent apr which is pretty decent.. THere are people who finance cars at higher APR's than that, Go figure.... That means that if i carry a balance of 100 dollars average for a whole year i will pay 8.90 cents in interest in the whole year..... If i carried an average balance of 1000 dollars i would pay 89 dollars over the entire year.. If you are getting a credit card for the first time and have no credit at all you can expect to be up close to, or in the %20 range

Just for the fun of it i just made a simple example to show you that you would save money even at 20 % interest rate buying it at 1000 dollars on ebay rather than 1700 at crutchfield (Remember however that ebay isnt authorized and you most likely wont be able to get it fixed for warrantee.)

if you were to pay the 1000 dollars off over the course of 2 years you would pay 41.67 a month.. Your average balance for the first year would be about 750 dollars and the interest paid would be 150 dollars.. Your average balance the second year would be 250 dollars and interest paid would be 50 more (200 total), thus you would end up paying 1200 instead of 1700.. seems like a better deal to me but go ahead and let some other uninformed people tell you its gunna be 3x as much.. As long as you can find it under 1400 then it will cost you less using a %20 apr card when paid off in 24 months.. If you make a 15 dollar a month payment and charge all kinds of other stuff and put yourself into big time credit debt then yes, you will pay a lot more... Thats why you should only charge as much as you know you can pay back, and make sure to make pay as much as you can off every month.. You just have to be responsible about it..

hmmm.. so u think i should just wait like 3 months to buy it for only 1000, rather than use payment plans and pay more?

yeah its always best if you can pay it all immediately.. But if you could pay it off within several months and have a credit card with a fairly low apr then that isnt a bad way to go either, that way you dont have to wait! Its up to you though..
By the way i realized i made an error before in calculations for what your monthly payment would be at 20% apr.. it would have been about 50 bucks a month, not 42 or whatever i wrote, because you would be paying 1200 total..
